I have a Leupold Vari-XII 1x4 shotgun scope on my Remington 870. This will be the 10th year I have used that combination. I had the gun drilled and tapped by a professional gunsmith, using a Weaver 1 pc. base made for a Remington semi-auto rifle. The semi auto rifle has the same receiver contour as the 870. This outfit has served me well....never had a problem with it. The person doing the drilling needs to know what they are doing though before they go punching holes in your receiver to avoid what happened to Gobblenutt. If done correctly by a professional, you will have a fantastic turkey slaying machine!!
