Default Today's Walk...Some pictures.

Well I couldn't pass up the chance to get outside after work today with this beautiful PA day we had, so I decided to head on up to check out our food plot (dad just limed and planted some rye/clover last weekend).

Came up to my foodplot from the main entrance, and saw this.

Now I haven't seen a dust bowl in person ever I do believe, but I assume they should have turkey tracks and feathers in them, correct? My first intitial reaction when I came upon it was DUST BOWL...then when I got closer there were no tracks or general sign. Not really sure what did this because there doesn't appear to be any tracks in it, but it certainly wasn't there just a few days ago...any ideas?

Now onto the plot. You can see in the above plot that it's starting to green up fast, but don't get TOO excited as most of it appears to be the dang foxtail coming back again[:@] Clover is sprouting, however, and given a nice moist spring, it should take off nicely. Sorry for the terrible focus, I had my little A610 and the manual focus is crappy.

Now on to a piece of property that adjoins us. We have permission (it's a nice older couple) to walk on their land, and I often find myself walking over there and dreaming of buying that place. We've been helping them out for years with chores around there (they're in their mid 70s with no children or relatives really) mowing the field, cutting firewood, plowing the driveway, etc, so we've built a great relationship with them. Anyways, the views from up top of this place are AMAZING. It's ~146 acres of UNHUNTED (for about 50-70yrs) land consisting of everything from large stands of pines, flat oak groves, apple orchards (was an old farm), etc. Anyways I took this picture where my fiance and I would love to build our home someday (actually the owners told my dad if they are to sell, they will offer it to us first, so a guy can dream right).

The views are even better off to the left, but I wanted to get back home in case I bumped any birds by accident (they love this field I was in). Thanks for checking the pictures, hope you enjoyed them.
