You need to learn to read better. I said (this is the third time)
prove it's a bigger problem than any other poaching activity.

Penalizing law abiding hunters so that poachers have less opportunity is never the way to go. If you follow the mentality that kids AR should be eliminated because some adults may abuse it then here's some otherideas that make just as much sense.

Some hunters would shoot a deer if it comes by 5 minutes after quitting time so maybe we should require everyone to be out of the woods by quitting time.

We've all heard those early shots on opening day of gun season from those guys who catch a deer with their flashlight on the way in so maybe the law ought to prohibit hunters from entering the woods before starting time.

A squirrel or turkey hunter with a rifle could shoot a deer and then go get his bow and claim he shot it with archery equipment so maybe the law should not allow any overlap in seasons

The weekend before rifle deer season finds lots of hunters in the woods scouting and at the same time rifle fire can be heard all around. Most of it is probably guys sighting in but maybescouting ought to be outlawed because we all know that some early deer get taken that weekend

The odds of getting caught by a WCO while spotting with a gun in the car are pretty low somaybe we need to outlaw spotlighting altogether

Or how about reinstating the stupid old law that once required hunters to use up their venison before mid summer? Themnetality behind that one was that poaching picks up in the fall and anyone with deer meat before deer season could be busted for merely having it.

None of these makes any sense. It would impose great inconvenience on those willing to obey the law but the poachers will always find a way. They will either ignore the law flat out or they'll find some other way to abuse it. Punishing those that obey the law to make it a little harder for poachers who will find a way anyway is not the answer!
