As a hunter I'm kind of glad but as an outfitter I'm kind of sad that Nebraska is never even in the running for a place to visit to harvest a big deer. Certain areas of the state are small parcels and way over hunted but the farther NW you go in the state the bigger the farms and ranches and some of the public areas get. I've seen some super nice bucks taken off of public land here, and we manage over 70,000 acres of private ranches for trophy quality, now if we could just get our eastern hunters to wait and not shoot the first 10 point in the field.
