bluebird,there isn't a SGL anywhere around here that has a deer density even close to 12 dpsm.Last week I took a short ride through SGL 77 and saw close to 60 deer.The habitat on our state game lands is managed much better than most private land and the deer densities are no where near 12 dpsm.
That is simply your very biased opinion and you have no facts to back up that claim. How could 2G have a preseason DD of 12 DPSM ,if SGLs had more that 12 DPSM? Why did the hunter movement study report low harvests on SGL?
Cutting 1%/yr. will actually decrease the carrying capacity, because in the long term the percentage of saw timber will decrease and the percentage of pole timber will increase ,while seedlings and saplings will remain constant.
