Default The Traditional Gods keep on smiling.........(pics)

To go along with Jeff's fun weekend flipping arrows through the longbow, I had a similar weekend myself! 2nd "All Traditional" weekend in the last 3 weeks.
Our archery club "Big Buck Archers" hosted the 15th annual "Pa Bowhunters Festival" this past weekend in Brickerville, Pa at the Camp Mack scout camp. 100 targets over 5 courses and probably 1000 shooters for the weekend.
It was another weekend to let the compound at home and unwind again while getting to know the new Morrison Cougar longbow.

The pictures just show a little bit of the fun we had of non-stop shooting from Friday through Sunday while we camped at the event. The usual, men becoming boys for a weekend as we "camped" on 50's style steel bunk beds, played cards, joked and ate like horses.

I was telling ArthurP that I made a big score last year at the "equipment auction" we hold on the Saturday night of the event. In 2007 I picked up a great $85 recurve bowcase for $10, and a 6 pack of Simmons broadheads for $5. LOL
Well I outdid that this year as the Trad Gods smiled on me one more time.
I managed to snag a brand new in the package Bear Super Kodiak FF 55# @ 28" for a whopping................$85.

Really shot well overall, especially when I got the ranges down into the 22yard and under. Everything over was generally hit or miss high as I learn to see those shot pictures but I made some very long 1 arrow shots out to 47 yards. [:-]. Windage was terrific the whole weekend.
Great weekend great mojo, no competition just having fun and trying to keep getting more competent with this equipment.

The "crew" L to R: Dave, Me, Frank (Kidd642), Russ

A "Do or Die" 33yd black bear we staked to a high cutoff tree......miss and it's bye bye to the arrow. We all hung tough for some good shots!

$85 well spent.
