Chances are, your Savage MkII doesn't have a Picatinny Rail, so the first one won't work.
Second one "clamps" onto the barrel (think scratching the stock is bad, try marring the finish off the steel and having it rust?!). Looks like the thing doesn't fit all the barrel diameters from reading the reviews, so there's no guarantee you're even going to get it to hold tight if it fits at all. I'd pass on the second one, too.
Yeah, inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I've used Harris bipods for years and am perfectly happy with them. Sure, going to cost you three times what you'll pay for this one.
