I'm still not happy about bowhunters getting so long to hunt and i get 9 days.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
First thing Amateur, gun season is prime time. archery season is only good becuase the deer aren't spooked by all the gunfire. Second do like most others and go buy a bow or a cross bow and go hunting. Whats the big reason you'll only take a gun? Is it you feel you can only get close enough to get a shot with a gun. Or you don't want to invest the time. You handle makes you sound like its the latter.

If you've never bowhunted before you should try it. It takes time to learn and get good at shooting. If your willing to invest a little time you can easily get good enough with a crossbow. Getting close takes a little but isn't to hard. You should try it and realize why 9 days for gun is probably OK. Bowhunting is much more satisfying anyway. You have to get close or you don't get a shot.
The main reason i stick to gun is i have no one to teach me the ins and outs of bow hunting, how to use it, how to do minor repairs and such. My dad gun hunts, all my friends gun hunt, my entire family gun hunts(most of them are out of state). I don't want to take a chance of my complete lack of knowledge about bows to wound an animal and suffer or cause me to miss a shot. I can live with the latter, i can't live with the first of the two.
