RE: Your overall archery (buck) success rate?
man i had easy math!!
50% rate...2 years bowhunting...1 bow kill.
coulda been 2 and shoulda been 100%...but no sense in talking about the one that got away..or what coulda been or shoulda been...learn from my mistakes and try not to make them again....
i dont know why i started out of the gate successfully....id like to say its my knowledge, scouting, shooting, time spent on stand, hunting practices etc...but, im still new...beginners luck? lets hope not. i cant judge myself...the minute i say something is the minute my luck drops out of the bottom of the bucket...trying to learn all i can, and from 2 years ago compared to last year, i already seen an improvement in what i seen and feel like im already getting better...im the guy that will flat out tell you i rather be GOOD than lucky. noone understands why...being GOOD will equal more consistancy over the LUCKY guys...you know...they dont scout...dont shoot their bows and cant hit the broad side of a barn, stink like the bar on stand, couldnt tell ya what direction the wind was blowing or where they EXPECT the deer to come from...you know the weekend warriors...that still once in a while tag a buck..and heck, its usually a pretty goodun....so i like to say i rather be GOOD than lucky and strive to be good and get better all the time by learning more and learning from mistakes and mishaps...
