Guys, thanks for deeming this a good read.

I wrote this as a learning experience. It wasn't fun and I wasn't proud. Nobody likes to admit to a bad shot, especially to an entire internet hunting board. I wrote it basically in real time, not after knowing the end result. Was I worried about not recovering the deer? Sure I was, but I thought it would be a good chance to show others one way of approaching a situation like this. I'm glad it turned out the way it did though!

Boy that's an interesting perspective.....and I agree with it. I also congratulate you on your recovery.

I thought it might be cool to go through an entire season of shots and recoveries.....even the possibility/reality of a non-recovery. It wasn't met with the same attitude as your story.

Don't think thatsome here didn't learn from your experiances.
Many don't have the nads to post thier less than perfect performances. And yet sadly a few continue to show how some lessons are harder for them to learn than others.[]
