I don't know, I mean I just can't fathom why someone would kill a baby deer.
Well let me tell you RG.
First off.....by the time this fawn makes it through the hunting season.....it's going to take as much food to sustain that animal as it would an adult doe (or nearly as much). So.....let's say you have a pasture for your horses.....and it's 15 acres. You can graze 3 in there all year long and not run out of grass. Now what would happen if you put 10 more in there? Now what are they going to graze on?
It's legal to kill fawns here for several reasons. No. 1.....there's NOTHING wrong with killing one. No. 2....in areas that are overpopulated....and tags are abundant (Hmmmm wonder why the tags are abundant???)....it IS the moral thing to do. Fawns are the weakest of the species and in many US regions......they're the first to die off in harsh winters. Whats more ethical? Kill them via hunters or let the predators, disease and starvation/exposure kill them?
It's not like we (hunters) are particularly "targeting" fawns.....but I killed two last year (I believe)....and I know I killed a piebald fawn in 2006. Are they "trophies"? OK......Yeah.....I think any deer taken with a bow is. DO I post up those photos? Nope (other than the piebald).
Many in the US wouldn't approve of the way Europe views nudity.......but it's mostly because they don't understand your somewhat different outlook on this.....andalso because they're just archaic prudes.
You don't have to agree with our hunting laws. You don't have to obey them. But if you don't understand them......isn't it a littleignorant to pass judgement on them?
If I was judging then I would be condemning it which im not and clearly stated in my post. What goes on in other EU states doesn't concern me bearing in mind we are all seprate countries and have our own rules and i know the UK is strict when it comes to that, France no, Spain no etc etc, I do not know what you mean by nudity here, If anything we are strict compared to what i have seen in the US. There are many strip clubs and porn shops plastered all over the place there and it isn't very appealing either. That isn't the point anyway, and im not trying to start an argument but all i was trying to say that it is illegal here, we dont have the volume of deer that you have there, i understand its a big problem. i respect the hunting regs there, my boyfriend goes and hunts over in MS and i prefer the way you can hunt deer over there anyway, its brilliant.
All I was saying was that i felt it was wrong to kill a fawn, that was just my opnion, but if it has to be done then i have to accept it. Thats life.
