I just figured I can also use this thread as a running day to day and hopefully finish it off with a good story and photo of my bear
Suggestions are always welcome though...as when to catch one in the open, spot & stalk bear tactics, etc.
I'm hunting with a Remington Model 700, 30-06 topped with a Leopold VII 3 X 9 scope and using 165gr Core-Loc ammo. Looking to hit the green grass ormountain onion patches on southern slopes in early morning and late evening to catch a bear browsing. No bait or dogs, so I am not even thinking of setting a tree stand or even taking out my bow.
Has anyone here spot & stalked bear with a bow in open country??
