Default RE: Rick Welch....shooting machine

What Rick and most good coaches promote is a secondand even 3rd anchor point for reference.
Don't get hung on it being the feather to the nose - your personal style could keep this from being your best choice without changing something or forcing it.

Steve ya know what's funny.......I shoot so much target with compounds and 2 or 3 reference points is just standard. I don't know why it never occured to me to incorporate it into traditional archery.
Like I said rick's form and mine really are extremely similar and the 3 under we both use puts that flecth SO close to being right where I need it.
If I fletch my arrows with the feathers back about 1/16" it will just naturally put them right on the tip of my nose. As it is I have to just barely go to it to find it.

It's fun learning new stuff like that and I think it will really help my shooting and it will also help the tendency to snap shoot. I found myself just calmly holding anchor while I set my references and cleared the sight picture rather than just running my finger to the corner of my mouth and letting er' rip.

Rick is an absolute MACHINE, it's awesome to watch. I would love to be able to spend a day with the guy and pick his brain and have him help my shooting........we watched that video and it got to the point that we were just giggleing and shaking our heads as he hammered X after X after X and drilled every animal he shot at.
It was impressive to watch.
