Right, the cord doesn't drag. All it does is sit there. It is either slack or taut. It does not mar the finish at all. If you get real worried about it, you can improve the angle (and almost completely clear the cable guard) if you tie it to the outside of the limb using a D-loop knot and let it hang down.
