Default Rick Welch....shooting machine

Just got done watching Rick Welch's shooting/hunting DVD Vol II.

Good news, I really do have form almost identical to Rick's same anchor same body position, bow cant everything.........I now see why a few different people have told me that.

The bad news: Holy crap do I have a lot of work to do! LOL
This dude is like robot-traditional shooting- hillbilly crazy man.[:-]

There is all sorts of clips of him shooting 3D and hunting and I do NOT want this man shooting at me.
Not a whole ton of techincal information and you have to wade through a foriegn accent (I'm pretty sure Arkansas is not in the continental US now...it can't be)

but I did manage to pick up a few good pointers. Since our form is so close I never realized I was within about 1/16" of getting the cock feather on the tip of my nose making a second anchor reference. Rick shoots instinctive which I now know I do 100%. I never would have figured someone THAT consistent could be a pure instinctive shooter but he is.
We have similar shot progressions, but man he does everything exactly the same everytime.
I really need to work on that..........

I got inspired and was really shooting good today, I bet I shot 200 arrows on and off all day and made some really incredible shots for me.
I shot 3 straight first arrows into the X' ring from an elevated deck at 25 yards on a little coyote 3d target. I mean 3 in a quarter sized group exactly where I was looking.
I am almost 100% kill shot (8 or better on a 3D target) out to about 22-23yds (I thought my effective range was actually closer........[:-])

I shot that same coyote for a 10 ring on my first arrow from 38 yards.........hit him 4 out of 6 at 43 yards.

I really think I have chance to get pretty good at this thing and it was really fun today just working on getting better on such a beautiful day. My buddy Frank came over with his new Morrison recurve and we had a ball.
Then we watched "Getting Stickbow close", a cool little whitetail hunting DVD , and then Eichler's "Traditional Harvests V".
Also bought myself a nice little leather hipquiver to wear 3D shooting at the Bowhunter's Superstore today.

I'm so fired up for the 08' bowseason I almost can't stand it. My confidence is soaring right now with this gear and I'm ALMOST to the point where I don't feel handicapped VS my compound for all practical hunting distances.

Just thought I'd share the day........it was ALL traditional start to finish.

The only bummer is the mailman did a flyby and buzzed the house with no new bow that I was hoping would show up.
