RE: shooting in wind
Strong wind is another reason I like heavy arrows. In 25-30 mph crosswinds, I' ve had light carbons get blown completely off my rest at full draw. That' s guaranteed bad arrow flight! It takes a pretty healthy gust of wind to nock a 600 gn arrow off a rest. And it' s been my experience that heavier arrows (500 gns and up) are flat out more stable in the wind. Period.
Other than that, don' t forget that the wind is not only blowing your arrows around but it' s also buffeting you and your bow. It really screws up your follow thru on the shot.
