Yep youll have the best luck catching them on the dropoffs and to get to them you need yourself a boat. But what i would recommend if your from shore is minnow imitaion lures work good, and topwater imitation lures work good for pike. Or set a smelt or equivalent too, about a foot off bottom, and try to make it so it will sit horizontally. The more natural the presentation the better. But during summer i know eyes like to go as deep as they can, same with pike but you will still find them shallow.
