I like to use worms or pieces of night crawlers for bait in small brooks and streams. Ponds as well as some live minnows if your in a pond that allows it. Some ponds here you can only use lures and the like. On them a streamer early in the season as well as a few nymphs. Dry flies during the later part of spring and early summer, some of which will include the grasshopper. Later on i choose to move onto wet flies.. Good Luck with your trout fishing..
