RE: 243 vs. 25-06
Since you want a Tikka, I'd go with the 25-06 as it matches the action length better than the .243. The next 08 case from the .243 is the .260 rem and is pretty much a ballistic twin with the 25-06.Any of themwill be fine for deer and prong's. I'd pass on the elk with them myself.
