Default RE: need help on locating birds!!

These guys know what they are taking about...no one can get the most out of scout by walking 1200 acres looking for turkey poop, scratchings, dropped feathers. The locate several possibilities one must study the "Big Picture."

Get out there before first light and and at dark the first two weeks before the "Opener" locate yourself at high point, different locations each time and listen. Make some notes on an areial map and mark it up with your findings from year to year.

By listening from open fields that over look wooded forest, hills and valleys one can best tell exactly where the calls are going from.

If you have some pasture or clear cut areas, check them out around 9-10 AM but with binoculars from a far. That out of the woods and don't call until opening day....Use the tactic of Surprise......

If you are hearing lots of gobblers and would more like some more thoughts, call me I can be there dressed in camo.....
