RE: Lightweight Synthetic .243 rifle?
I own a Kimber. It's the Classic not the Montana. It's a .308 not a .243 but its been a dandy (no issues what-so-ever) and shoots well. I topped it with a Swaro AV 3-9 X 36 and it's very light weight. I didn't like the Montana because it has a blind mag. I have heard of some QC issues with Kimber's from other folks. I guess you never know for sure. I may buy another some day.
BTW, NULA kind of pioneered the ultra light weight rifles. They are very good but pricey.
