Yes 400 is MAX for my eyesight these days.I use 4X Leupolds and now need 3X9's.Just cause you can hit game farther doesn't mean it's ethical to shoot.I had a buddy with a .220 Swift that could hit coyotes farther than he could kill them.The .243 or .250 Sav is best kept under 300 yards although they can kill a little farther out.They both lack knockdown power at extended ranges..The only animals I've shot farther than 400 were previously wounded by others with the exception of a cow moose I hit twice with a .270 at a rangeI shant repeat here.Only got 8" penetration taking out heart and one lung.Half the fun is stalking close as conditions permit undetected and making a one shot kill.If others are competant shooting farther have at her I know my limitations.Harold
