Default RE: 20 Gauge rifled slug

If I ever buy a new slug gun, I'm 95% sure I'm getting a 20ga benelli semi auto.

I think 12ga slugs are what like 300-350gr?

20ga are i dunno 200-275gr? either way if you ask me this is one huge bullet, that puts you in .375 caliber.....sure they're not going 2800fps, but theyre going 2000fps or 2100fps nowadays.

I think they're almost identical in bullet trajectory, 12ga may still have them,a nd sure more energy, but how much energy do you need/want? its funny to me guys still insist on a 12ga slug, kinda like saying I dunno 20ga slugs just seem kinda light, but then you go elk hunting with a .270 or .30-06 and think anyone with a 300 or 338mag is overkill, when youre shooting bullet weights in the .375H&H range....

I have no prob with a 12ga kick, or weight, but I like the idea of a 20ga, lighter bullets, lighter gun, maybe quieter? as if that matters.

I think they both kill deer just as well as the other, so saying you need more gun, isn't really a valid point IMO, so ya you get a lighter 20ga etc.....but again that doesnt affect me much either. Just my next pick would be a 20ga, also if you ever have a son or daughter that wants to deer hunt a 20 would definitely be nicer than a 12 for them, even dad it would be nicer for. Also I've yet to shoot at a deer with a slug over 100yds, so energy at 200yds does affect me and shooting a deer with a slug at 50yds, I wonder if the 20 would be even more effective than a 12 would be!
