It is nice and sunny and calm and about 45 here in Minnesota. I was trying to work in the shop but I kept thinking about some of the negative reports I had been reading about the Disc Extreme with the MHC barrel. I played hooky and got the gun and some loads ready.
First I shot 4 powerbelts to get the sights adjusted. I hadn't used the open sights yet and I had moved my only scope to the disc elite.
Then I tried some 300 grain shockwaves with crushed rib sabots. I could cover the 50 yard group with a quarter. Then I tried some 285 grain Barnes bullets with EZ load sabots. Not as good but I still could cover the three shot group with a silver dollar. Then I tried the shockwaves again to see if it was a fluke. This time I got a ragged hole with the three shots. Not bad for these old eyes. I can tell you I am tickled pink with the way the rifle shot today. I won't be able to wipe the smile off my face now while I'm cleaning the gun.
