I will say that when I was younger, I caught my fair share of bass off rooster tails, mepps, etc. No really big ones, but a ton of them. If you want numbers, tie on a spinner. If you want to consistantly hook into the biggest bass in the lake, I'd suggest a bigger, slower moving, and deeper bait than an inline spinner.
