btw, I never understood why the .338 win mag shouler was shorter than compared to the .300 win mag, don't both these rounds use the same case essentially?
It was made shorter to keep idiots from chambering a 300 Win mag cartridgeinto a .338 Win mag chamber and hurting themselves or others.
The RUM's are made the same way.
