Heck, as long as you're in the "trying" mood... what about that spray-on rubber lining you can buy in a can? Take your prongs off and spray 'em down good with that... ought to be quiet, and should last for a long time.

Hmmm... maybe i ought to file for the patent right away... [:-]
I do this in my Treestands, they don'y rust and are not slippery. Less noisey also
