It depends with the shooter I guess. My max distance is usually 20 yards. Some days even shorter then that. It really depends on how good I'm shooting each time I go out that day. Every time before I go out in the woods hunting I shoot a half dozen arrows. That right there tells me what my shooting range will be. My longest shot on a deer was 22 yards, I drilled her double lung and heart!! That year my shooting was awesome. I was dead on hitting quarters at 25 yards! Most of my animals (deer and bear) are shot at 12 to 13 yards.
