Regional Qualifier UKC coon hunt tomarrow nite!!!! if we(me and the dog) put up enough points, he qualifies to goto the semi-final zones of the world championship coon hunt!!

its my first ever nite hunt...ive been a coon hunter since i could walk...dad and i had dogs from about 5-11...couple years ago i found out my buddies uncle hunts a Walker dog and i started going with him once in a while..fell back in love, girlfriend and i split up back in sept, so i been coonhunting every nite im not at school pretty much..been taking his dog on my own when he cant come...pretty trusting guy to let me take his hound without him! he took me to 2 nite hunts back in the fall...dad and i never competition hunted..winning one of those hunts made the dog a grand nite champion, so i couldnt take him to the local hunts at the clubs..been waiting for this qualifier that he can goto...

id like to atleast qualify him...id really like to take the cake or place really well and bring home a trophy or plauqe they give out...but im just going for the expirience more than anything. ive never actually done it..watched the buddy both times i went.

weird feeling..im excited and nervous...we all know the dog can do it...hes done it tons of times before...but its going to be different for me making the right calls with 3 other dogs ive never seen/heard before...im gunna give it my best shot...if i get my clock cleaned, so be it..im there to learn and see if i like competition hunting...


usually not into competitions...(online ones i enjoy but its sheer fun and getting to know a good group of guys) but these nite hunts are different...ive seen enough at the 2 i went to to say im probably not going to like it..but i may..gotta try it and see once or twice...just seems that they arent real fair...guys like to lie and cheat and this and that...the point of these nite hunts is to see whose dog is the best and give it the titles...but if your a liar or cheater, your dog can easily be the best! i just see no point in the whole lying and cheating...you win NOTHING other than usually a trophy or plauqe. your dog gets a win towards the next level title...i just dont get it....never will...my buddy already told me im too honest to be a serious competition hunter. only thing i can hope for is to draw 3 other honest guys..or 3 really crappy dogs!! lol...

time to study the rules once more before bed...
