I'm sorry for you loss, he sounded like a good man. I'm not a lawyer but I did ace trusts & estates class last semester so I might be able to give you a little advice, best bet is to hire a good lawyer who deals with probate issues like this. Unfortunately these estate issues usually get messy and often times it is hard for the court to sort everything out unless there are written instruments. Feel free to PM if you have any questions
