Just stripped all the trim off "Big Girl' and started to sand. I really hate sanding, especially on a rifle this big

. I have atleast 1/8" of wood to remove/taper where the two pieces of the stock meet. Have to reshape the entire stock to take out the squareness.
Think i will just start off with the brass/lock and get those all back in shape before restarting on the wood.
Very nice wood grain under the ugly finish thats on the rifle now. I think 10 or 12 coats of Birchwood Casey walnut stain will bring it right out. Will more than likely use Tru Oil on the stock. It will mainly be a show piece to make conversation about.
