Took the .54 flinter great plains out this morning. 2 shots with 90 grains ffg goex and a crisco lubed ox-yoke .015 patch and a home cast .530 shot right where they did yesterday, made snake eyes out of those 2, Next shots were with 100 grains and those did well, i got a pretty good hangfire on the second shot which barely hit the corner of the box.
Next 2 shots and my hunting load, 110 grains ffg, put 2 holes into one @ 71 yards.
Its a nice stiff kiss, but the drop on the GP's stock handles recoil wonderfully and you dont even feel anything. Just feels like someone came up behind you and smacked you hard right in the back of the head
CVA Bobcat, 50 yards, 295 grain all lead powerbelt, These shot WAY off! I couldnt even tell where they were hitting. I'll have to resight in for these so i can Sand trap test them.
TC Hawken, 80 grains Pyro-select, 295 grain all lead powerbelt, My first shot went over the coffee can sand trap, next shot i did on paper and found it to be shooting 6" high @ 50 yards which doesnt seem right to me. Next shot i aimed low and nailed the corner of it but darn it! Damn bullet went right through the can. I just barely hit the can. The hole it ripped into the side was, well, it peeled off the Entire back side of the coffee can.
I know the cva and tc both shoot the powerbelt copper series very well, these lead bullets i think are building up more pressure and throwing my shots higher than normal.
Will resight in for the lead powerbelts so i can test them.
It was a good day shooting but i want to get those lead powerbelts on sight. Its killing me not knowing what they will do in the sand trap.
Time to clean [&:]
Someone please buy the TC Hawken so i have one less gun to clean.
