I knew the 7mm was popular but didn't know it was that popular. Course now there are the 7mm STW, RUM, is the 7mm RUM almost dead though? does everyone just get a 7mm STW if they want a big cased 7mm? Kinda like you either get a 7mm Rem Mag or 7mm STW?
The STW has just been around a lot longer. The RUM is acctually flatter shooting (faster). Infact, the 7 RUM has the flattest trajectory of any sporting cartridge... period. That title was of course, held by the STW previously. But there again, the STW has been around long enough to have gained a following. The Ultra Mags are just now taking a foothold in the last two or three years. The WSMs have been much more popular, even though they are about 5 years younger than Ultra Mags.
