It is not so much about being king of the hill as bringing in new ideas. Go check out EBay and see how many Mathews are for sale on there. About half of all the bows on there are Mathews. Sure, alot of people are selling them to get the new LX, but, I bet that even more are selling them to go get a new Hoyt, BowTech, ect....
Buck Magnet, the number of Mathews bows on ebay is probably in relation to the number of bows sold over the last few years, in comparison to other companies. Also, the prices that people get for their Mathews bows as compared to Bowtech and Hoyt, are much closer to retail. I had a Legacy that I sold and was quite pleased with the price that I got. I seriously considered buying another brand, but, if all things are equal with these bows, then resale price has to play a factor on buying a new one if you like to change every year. After looking at the new prices of Hoyt and Bowtech vs what price they were getting in the resale market, I opted for another Mathews, the LX. Now, this isn' t the only reason I purchased another Mathews, I just happen to like their products, as I' ve owned three different Mathews bows. I' ve also owned a Bowtech, Darton and numerous Brownings. After this coming hunting season, I will probably sell this LX and buy a new bow that comes out next year. Will it be a Mathews, don' t know yet. The nice thing is I will get more money for the Mathews and will be able to buy a new Hoyt, Bowtech or Mathews.
