The grip and area below the grip is one piece. The sight window is the second piece, and the third piece is the area above the sight window to the upper pocket. They supposedly have strong joints that are pinned together to keep it in one piece. As I understand it, the failure rate is very, very low to nonexistent.
I had no idea they were doing that. But then, I've been working on getting comfortable with being behind the technology curve. [8D]
