Think about this, as the bar increases away from your bow, it has to grow, if you had a 20 yard sight and could put your pin touching the target they'd end up at least 3" apart or the difference in the drop of your arrow (POI) using your wrong pin. So the closer to your bow/eye, the closer the pins, this is why the longer the bar, the more accurate you can be.
