It sounds like a Mathews from the description..... I have an LX that did the same thing. The sticker that they put on the bow lists the wrong string length... the fellow who made my string acctually knew the right length I needed.... I had him send me another string in the right length, rather than what the bow sticker recommened... my problem was solved.

Just some food for thought for you wedge... you might have a completely different situation... but it did help me.. best of luck with it.
