RE: Deer Hunt w/ Shotgun?
Hunter......I have hunted for many years and have shot many, many deer with a shotgun. If you want to the best possible setup.....the best thing to do is get a rifled slug barrel. I don' t believe it really matters what kind of gun you are using, but the rifled slug barrel will make the biggest difference on distance and accuracy of your slug. I personally shoot a Rem 870 Special Purpose, RIFLED SLUG BARREL and shoot Federal Premium 3" mags. Just to give you an idea.....I can put them in a paper plate at 145 yards. Although, I don' t think that I have ever killed one over 60. Just because of my spots and setups. So once again.....the way to go is a rifled slug barrel. They are a bit spendy, but you won' t regret it. Good luck to you.
