Matt:

I won't argue with you....but I'll tell you in golf there are "feel" players and there are "technical" players. I was the former.

I would find it very difficult to believe that every elite archer was a "technical" archer. I could easily be wrong, though.

I was talking to my barber at lunch. The guy won (his brother has won it, too) the Buckmaster's shoot is one of his customers. Gary (my barber) was asking how much he had to practice to get that good.

Hardly none, he says. He said he shoots enough to keep sharp for hunting. Those guys are shooting targets to 60yds......and some of them are moving.

I'm going to try to incorporate the level into my shots......shooting BB in the basement. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not naive enough to think it can't help.

I appreciate the advice.
I agree with this, to the Nth degree. Howard Hill certainly didn't need a "3rd Axis."

I have one on my 3-d bow but not on my hunting bow and Iadjust the 3rd axis on BOTH.

So yes,I know what it is and how to set itproperlyand WHY it is important.

If you don't look at your bubble, then the 3rd is an absolute waist of time.BUT,you need to incorporate looking at the bubble into your shot sequence.

I'll be honest, I don't use the levels on my sights, because I have found that they weren't true. I even went as far as warming one up and removed it on one of my Sidewinders, because I kept trying to talk myself into using it, when all itdid was throw me off. Now I'm certainly no GREAT archer, I shoot decent enough to get by, groups usually follow the 1"per 10yds rule out to 60yds, after that, my old eyes don't like trying to focus that much anymore. I supposereading the "explanation" on page 2 here, explains why I felt like my levels were lying to me right from the start.
