As for your question, I use a model 1100 for deer too. I usually put a slug (your first shots usually the best one) then a buckshot for when its running or in thick brush then another slug. When I shot my deer last seasont the buck shot hit it in the neck and she dropped instantly. Shotguns are good for deer, but one thing I dont like is having to finish it with a slug...[][:' (]
