Well SwampCollie.. it sounds as though you are doing it all right.
But.. I didn't see anything mentioned about your bow. How do you keep that? The bow will put off much scent if not properly dealt with.
Or.. how bout your boots? Are they rubber.. leather. A good pair of boots that can eliminate foot odor is huge.
Or.. do you carry in a back-pack? I know of guys who take every precaution they can with scent. Then just pull out their pack.. which was just sitting in their trucks bed the whole way over.
These are just a few suggestions you may want to consider.

The Bow: I usually hang it up outside but in the shade... so heck that may well be it. I spray some scent killer on it, but who knows how good that works???? This year I was hunting with an 07 model... so its fairly new....how can you combat bow odor?
Boots are all rubber knee high.
I carry an overglorified fanny pack.... has the big straps over the shoulders and all that. I tend to bring too much crap with me. It, like everything else, gets a good dose of scent killer inside and out. And again, it spends the late morning/early afternoon, outside flapping in the wind getting blown dry.
I'm just at a loss here. I'm really starting to think that it wasn't me at all the deer were blowing at. I just can't imagine that I would have so many deer spook that far off, on so many occasions without having overlooked something haneous.
