A solid anchor and a peep keep me from needing one.

No need for extra stuff on the string if you can help it.
Exactly. No kisser for me. I rely on multiple "feel" anchor points and a peep.

Now that I shoot FOBs I use the FOB as somewhat of a kisser. It touches below my lip and above my chin every time. Then I put the string on the tip of my nose. First and Second knuckle of my right hand on the pointy bone of my jaw, just below the ear.

That's three reference points based on feel.

I also have a fourth visual reference point - the peep.

So there's no need for a kisser IMO.
