RE: What was your best score?
I have always loved archery hunting but I have yet to get hooked on target shooting. For 9 years, I had a very short bow that did not fit my long draw and I couldn't get it tuned. No matter how much I practiced, I couldn't get comfortable shooting over 25 yards. Could be the 475 grain arrows my friends at a larger major outfitter hooked me up with along with my ignorance. Well, I got on google, searched for reviews, landed on this site, became slightly educated, purchased a 101 in December, and now I am hooked. Between work and the family, it will be difficult for me to practice more than 1 time per week at the range, but I pulled my target into the basement and started to work on tuning, equipment, and form. 2 weeks ago, I shot in a 3d tournament and had an absolute blast. It started a bit rough with a few 5s, but when I calmed down and forgot about the 15 shooters to my right and another 15 to my left, I was good. I will say that I felt bad for my cousin that helped me out. After about 20 shots, I think that he got too focused on what I was doing and forgot to place an arrow on his string and dry fired his target mattews bow. It sounded like someone tearing a 1000 dollar bill in half. What a horrible sound. I guess it is ok but his peep shot like a bullet from his string. Can't wait to get to the range this weekend. Good luck to all and thanks for the advice.
