Default RE: Shed Hunting

I played hookie from work today and "attempted" to shed hunt one of my favorite mountains...I snowmobiled as far up as I could get, parked and hiked in waste deep snow ( I know I fell through a couple times..) up over the mountain top into a southern face. I prayed the snow would be shallow enough... NOT... I still hiked down into the south and was in 2-3 feet deep snow.. were ever I went. I didnt see but 1 set of deer tracks.. Lots of bobcat and yote tracks.. one set of mountain lion tracks too.. thats it... No sheds as I am sure I walked over a few under the snow...

I am gonna drive 250 miles south this weekend to get out of this snow and shed hunt with my brother down on the Salmon river breaks.. for mule deer and whitetail, hope I find some.. So far this season I have been out 3 times now I have found 1 shed (early in jan) then after the big snows.. Ive found only one dead bull elk (spike/forky)last Sunday in the low country..
