Default RE: bullet and sabot question for Mustang rifle

Might work, but it's really not designed for use with a sabot. Lee makes two size .45 caliber moulds for that bullet, a regular one that they sa produces a .450 bullet and an oversize one they say produces .454 bullets. I'm sure those diameters are for pure lead, and would be different with wheel weights. Anyway, you may have to experiment with different sabots to get one to fit right. Most 50/45 sabots are made for .451 or .452 bullets.

I've shot the Lee .457 405 grain flat nose 45-70 bullet cast from wheel weights out of my Mustang with MMP orange sabots with pretty good results. Cheap to shoot. But, I would go with pure lead for a hunting bullet.
