Before you go to a pro shop you need to decide what it most important to you regarding exactly what you plan on doing with the bow. For instance if you are looking for a target bow will you should have very different needs and wantsfor that bow than you would in a pure hunting bow.

After you decide on exactly what you are going to do with your new bow then visit your pro shop and ask them what they have that fits your criteria.

Lets say you walked into my store and told me that you had no idea what you wanted for a bow but you wanted a new bow. The first thingI would ask you is what do you plan on doing with this bow? You tell me it will be for hunting only. I ask how do you hunt. You tell me that you hunt from a treestand 80% of the time and from a ground blind every once in a while. This would tell me that you most likely would be looking for a relatively compact bow but a forgiving bow and definetly a quiet bow. Then we would figure out what draw weight range you are comfortable with. Of the bows that I carry I would suggest several from a few different manufacturers......... Bowtech General, Guardian, and Allegiance; Ross Cardiac; Diamond black ice and marquis; Mathews DXT and drenalin; PSE X-force dream season; Bear Truth 2, Done deal, game over, and lights out.Of course you would begin looking at them drawing them all back feeling the draw cycle etc... you would likely prefer some over others and then you would begin shooting the ones that you liked best and would eventually come to one that stood above all the others............
