Ben: this is the wost year I have ever seen for them not gobbling.
I have been hunting private land,only two guys and my wife on 2500 acers.
we have not heard a bird yet.
on opening morning I heard what I though was a jake gobble off the land on the river,(was not sure).that is it.a bunch of hens came to me and he was with them.I took him after about 30 min.he finally came to a gobble.he never said a word.
no one is hearing anything,in my area.usually we will hear several birds every day.
were goining again in the morning to try again.

just keep trying,maybe they will start up soon.
