Yes, The land i hunt is public but there doesnt seem to be many hunters this year.
I saw one other hunter Sunday about a mile from where I started. In years past the birds would get silent after the first couple of weeks but they would still gobble at dawn. I drove to my hunting area Thursday afternoon and saw one hen within
100 ft of the check station and 2 big gobblers about a quarter mile down the road.
Saturday morning came, NOthing. 7 other hunters checked in but most of those went a few miles down the road. Just seems like a strange year. I do hunt some private land also but my hunting buddy hasnt been able to make it up until this
Wednesday so ive been holding off.
