How funny this should come up.. After a very frustrating weekend shooting my #1 and # 2 bows. I decided to pick up my 2002 bastardized " G-38" (G3.2 Converted to a P-38)...big honkin grip and all....and I shot it better yesterday than I' ve shot in the past few months ..go figure

IIRC, I think Ausie Guy prefers the old grip to the new one..I like the small throat of the new one, but the grip angle is too low for my tastes, so I did not shoot it as consistently. The old grip is a bit higher and promotes a different style grip that is obviously more comfy for you.

Only you can determine what feels best for yourself..Some guys do in fact shoot better with a big grip, especially those with very large hands....use what works!

BTW..the grip throat is about 1 1/8" on the 2002 Bowtechs.
