the point..there was none..just found it interesting and was wondering if you had read it! (the story about John Rook). Who knows why he is shooting curves but I would bet he does like it better otherwise why in the world would he shoot a no let off bow when the guy behind him has to sight in? I would opt for the higher % wheels if I was in his situation! Heck even my old forked lightning jennings at 50% let off is better then NONE when you cant see and have to hold while someone else does the sighting in. I didnt see Pats deal with Hill..I will have to try and dig it up so I can reference what you say about the living legend no bowhunter or archer has ever matched or beaten, (or ever will for that matter).

hey Pa, no worries....I am not mad at either you or N.Jeff....

here is the question I asked in two different posts

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quotequote:
hey Pa, Technology is good for all aspects of the hunting world...but no one has seemed to answer my question, where do you draw the line between actually hunting, and having so many gizmos and gadgets that it becomes shooting. (like I said before it has nothing to do with distance).

quote:
I guess I dont embrace it, I take it with a grain of salt. I do however feel our own technology will become our own demise as bowhunters....back to drawing the line between it still being hunting and it being shooting. Let me iterate something, I understand from many failures there is no such thing as a crap shoot!!! I guess its a little hard to explain and have it come off the right way so take it for what its worth....

these came from 2 different posts. Its bascially the same question you asked in a nut shell albeit completely different. Yes you have to draw the bow (for now, who knows what will happen in 10 15 or 20 years from now) but where do you put an end to more gadgets to make it easier instead teaching more dedication and ethics? (seperate question). I like seeing the new gizmos and gadgets...some of them are great advancements 80% let off..who would have thought of that 10 15 or 20 years ago? Carbon arras? snazzy heads be it mech or fixed...the list can go on and on....

Also something I do seem to recall that was pointed out farther back on this thread, that our 'proficency' with our weapons as a group is less then it was not long ago...why? Is it due to these 'advancements' and lack of woodsmenship? Heck bloodtrailing is an art all unto itself and I know of very very few people who are true masters at it. I do believe Arthur P. posted the proficency deal.

Nothing against you or your thoughts there Bambi but why just on the bow with the electronics? How about nite hunting..heck there is no such thing up here as nite come july (caribou opener) until around mid august (sheep opener). Heck for that matter preditor hunting at nite with our bows..why not opt for all the advantages??? Not making a stab just a question asked.
